The usefulness of propolis has been clinically proven, through quality tests conducted in SMF Medicine, Friendship Hospital, East Jakarta. In this research Aznan and team using propoelix, the extract of propolis with capsule form. Giving propoelix conducted over four days, but the research took place during the four months from December 2009 to March 2010.
This research proves that propoelix is effective for repairing laboratory parameters, clinical conditions, and decrease the duration of treatment of dengue patients. "Actually, on the second day of research respondents who consume propoelix was feeling good and wanted to go home. However be prevented to anticipate appearing the negative impacts previously unknown. The duration of treatment about four days convincing given propoelix positive impact," said Aznan.
Propoelix containing two major antioxidants that are not found in other bee products such as bee pollen or royal jelly. Anti-oxidant that meant is Caffeic acid phenethyl bioflavanoid and Ether (CAPE). CAPE is an anti-inflammatory compound, which prevents rupture of blood vessels resulting DHF patients do not experience the bleeding. To maintain daily health,Chief Medical Consultant High Dessert Indonesia (HDI), Ivan Hoesada suggested consumption propoelix capsule once a day.
